Three of Lizzo's former dancers have filed a lawsuit against the singer. They accused her of creating a negative work environment, sexual harassment, weight shaming, and inappropriate religious pressure.
According to a lawsuit in Los Angeles, Lizzo allegedly criticized one of her dancers for gaining weight. Then she fires her for recording a meeting.
Another lawsuit says Lizzo asked one of the dancers to touch a naked artist at a club in Amsterdam.
The singer also held a 12-hour audition for a group of employees. It was as punishment for false accusations of drinking at work.
In the Amsterdam incident, Lizzo allegedly invited the cast to witness sex toys launched from players' vaginas in sex clubs. Those who refused to participate were scolded.
The lawsuit also names Lizzo's dance captain, Shirlene Quigley. She was accused of forcing her Christian beliefs on the group. She criticized those who commit premarital sex.
The former dancers who sued were Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez. They have named Lizzo (real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson) in the lawsuit.
Specific charges in the suit include sexual harassment,
creating a negative work environment, fake imprisonment, and interference with prospective economic gain,
according to LBC News.
Zambrano, a lawyer representing the victims, expressed disappointment at Lizzo's public image contrast.
The 35-year-old singer has an image of body positivity. But she was involved in the persecution of the dancers.
Arianna Davis and Crystal Williams became part of Lizzo's dance team after appearing as contestants in "Watch Out for the Big Grrrls." It was an Amazon event hosted by the singer.
