Harry Potter Fan Arrested When Mistakenly Carrying a Knife for a Wand
Panic broke out at a hotel in the UK after a man was seen walking around brandishing some weapon near an elevator.
Shortly after, firearms officers descended on the scene in Enderby, Leicestershire, following several complaints from witnesses.
However, police were stunned after they discovered that the weapon was simply a wand owned by a Harry Potter fan, the BBC reported, as reported by NDTV.
Leicestershire Police then took to Facebook to share details of the hilarious incident.
They joked that there was no sign of Voldemort.
However, they did not reveal in which hotel the incident took place.
An officer on behalf of Blaby police wrote:
"I came to a large hotel in Enderby this morning with a number of firearms officers, following reports of a man inside near the elevator carrying a large knife. After conducting an investigation, we quickly learned that the man was a Harry Potter fan carrying a wand. Fortunately, no one was injured, and there was no sign of Voldemort."
The Facebook post drew laughter and amusement online, and some users took the opportunity to make jokes about Harry Potter.
