Throughout July 2023, Elon Musk rebranded Twitter to X. One of the changes was the application name and logo.
When updating the Google Play Store and Apple App Store app stores, the Twitter name and logo will disappear, replaced by the X name and logo.
However, many users seem unwilling to lose the Twitter name and logo from their HP home screen.
This also seems to be used by other users to sell their cellphones which still have the original Twitter logo (the blue Larry Bird), at high prices on eBay.
Some users sell the iPhone 11 Pro Max with the original Twitter application logo for $ 25,000.
This price is tens of times more expensive than the new iPhone 11 Pro Max version. It's not just one person selling iPhones with the Larry Bird Twitter logo.
Other users are selling iPhones with the original Twitter logo for between $800 and $1,000. Not yet known whether the iPhone with the Twitter application has been sold.
Previously, the rebranding of Twitter's name and logo to X first appeared on Android phones. iPhone users were still "safe" from this rebranding process because the X naming did not pass Apple's requirements.
This is because the App Store has written rules that state that registered applications must have a name of at least two characters and a maximum of 30 characters.
As such, brand X, which consists of only one character, is not eligible to be listed on the App Store.
